🐢 Permit Requirements

To hold a professional photoshoot or wedding at Eternity Beach (Halona Cove), the State of Hawai‘i requires a permit. Here’s how it works:

• 📸 For Photoshoots:
  We’ll take care of applying for the required Wiki Permit on your behalf.
  💵 Cost: $20 (this state fee will be added to your final invoice)

• 💍 For Weddings or Ceremonies:
  Your officiant is responsible for securing the Beach Wedding Permit through the state.
  💵 Cost: $50 (state fee)

​

We’ll walk you through the process and make sure everything’s squared away—whether it’s a casual shoot or a special “I Do” moment.

📌 Important Notes About Halona Cove:

• 🅿️ Parking is limited — You’ll park at the scenic lookout above and walk down a short path (it’s a bit steep but totally worth it!)

• 🌊 Timing matters — Mornings are usually best for light, crowds, and tide conditions.

• ❌ No arches, chairs, or setups allowed — The location is protected, and all shoots must remain low-impact and natural.

• 🎬 You might recognize this spot from From Here to Eternity, 50 First Dates, and Pirates of the Caribbean—it’s iconic for a reason.

📸  Photography Permits

Professional photographers and videographers must obtain a separate commercial photography permit to document your elopement. (We handle this for our clients!)

🚁 Yes, we can fly drones at Lanikai! We follow all FAA regulations and fly safely and respectfully to capture the most epic aerial views of your day.

• 💡 Additional Tips for Shooting at Halona:

• 🚗 Parking:
  You’ll park at the Halona Blowhole Lookout just above the beach. From there, it’s a short (but rocky!) walk down to the cove. Pack light and wear comfy shoes until you’re photo-ready.

• 🌤 Weather:
  Mornings here are usually sunny with soft light—perfect for photos. But Oahu weather can shift quickly, so don’t stress if it gets breezy or misty. That wild wind? Use it! It can create some seriously cinematic, magical moments (think flying dresses, windswept hair, and dramatic kisses).

• 🌿 Privacy:
  While Halona Cove feels like a secret spot, it’s still open to the public—so we recommend early sessions for more peace and space. We’ll help guide you to the best hidden corners for that “no-one-else-in-the-world” kind of feel.
